Empties & throw outs

Before moving I threw out all of my empties that I collected since almost the beginning of this year. I say 'almost' because last year I posted an article about empties I collected every 3 months, but this year I felt like not doing that so for the first one or two months I just threw them straight into the bin but suddenly I collected them again so here's what I finished up over the last eight months or so.

Over the last couple of weeks it has been more quiet on my blog than it has ever been before. Since the beginning of October I have been busy moving from one place to another (with a lot of work that had to be done in my new appartment as well as in my old appartment), applying for a new job (and I got it!) and a family cruise vacation in the Mediterranean Sea (last week) before the shocking news about Paris hit the world... Bittersweet that just that Friday we spent one relaxing day in France (Marseille) and unfortunately having to realize by now that horrific acts that same day changed a nation, if not the whole world. My thoughts go out to the people in Paris.

Fall Look 2015

Fall is here in the northern hemisphere and I actually love it! Fall make up gets me so much more excited than any other season appropriate make up. Last week I bought two new items perfect for fall: the eye shadow palette Romantic Efflorescence by MUA and the lush lip vinyl Chic Chock by H&M. These products are the stars of my fall look!

My latest discovery: Therme - a World of Beauty

Last Thursday I went to a press event from Therme. Therme is a Dutch beauty brand offering skincare for the total body. Their philosophy is to provide products with which you can easily create your spa at home for the ultimate welness experience in your own bath room. I was curious because I dit not really know what to expect from the event and the brand. To be honest with you, I only know the brand from shower products, but I got to discover so much more, so read on to find out about it!

First impression + swatches: H&M's new beauty line!

H&M will be launching their new beauty line with over 700 products in September. Here in The Netherlands the newest H&M store, openend this August in the city Utrecht, is already selling the range. Of course I couldn't wait to check it out! I've been there twice and I bought some really nice cosmetics I'll show you in this post so keep on reading for a lot more pictures, swatches and information!

Collective beauty haul: Mica Beauty, Olaz, Primark, Pieces & Kruidvat

So... I'm a bit of a slack this year when it comes to my blog and I get frustrated about that more than you can imagine, but I also am aware that I'm the only person who can change that around. I still love beauty (although, aren't we getting a bit too serious about it sometimes?), so that's not the issue here. I already took many pictures of things I like to share with you and I have enough ideas for articles, but it's just that I find it hard to get in the right mood or mind set to actually put a blog post together. Well, whining about it ain't gonna help nobody but I know I can do better, although I'm not gonna promise you anything yet.

Yves Rocher shoplog + first impression

Al een lange tijd had ik niet meer bij Yves Rocher geshopt terwijl ik er voorheen toch regelmatig producten van gebruikte. Vanaf mijn zestiende zelfs al! Toen bestelde ik de producten via ouderwets postorder, want internet was toen nog maar net in opkomst... Nu ben ik bij de winkel geweest (Utrecht) waar op vrijwel alles 50% korting werd gegeven. Shopped @ DM: German Drugstore Haul

Op de terugweg vanuit Zwitserland waar mijn broer woont, moest ik natuurlijk de DM in Duitsland een bezoekje brengen. Deze drogisterij is een beetje vergelijkbaar met Kruidvat, alleen is alles er een stuk voordeliger geprijsd dan in Nederland. En dat komt mooi uit na een bezoekje in het veel te dure Zwisterland waar ik mijn shopneigingen compleet moet onderdrukken, omdat de prijzen daar echt belachelijk hoog zijn (passend bij de levensstandaard daar, maar dus niet leuk voor bezoekers uit de rest van Europa en daarom zie je er dan ook bijna alleen nog maar rijke Chineze en Indiase toeristen tegenwoordig). Goed, ik kan het vaak niet laten om over prijzen te praten, maar als je verder leest, laat ik je mijn Duitse DM-aankoopjes zien!

EN: I had to visit the German drugstore called DM on the way back home from Switzerland, where I visited my brother who lives there. Everything in Switzerland is way more expensive than in The Netherlands (it matches the standard of living in Switzerland, but not that from the rest of Europe) so I buy literally nothing over there, but drugstore shopping in Germany makes up for that! And German drugstore products are like 30% cheaper (just like in the USA) than the same products would be in The Netherlands (while the wages in Germany are not so different from the ones in the Netherlands, so I guess we are just *screwed* with higher prices). Yep, I know, I always talk about the price of things. Probably a typical Dutch habit and it doesn't help that I'm just a bit greedy myself. Anyway, let's meet my new loves!

MATT DIP EYELINER by CATRICE

Van de Doll's Collection van Catrice nam ik op de gok de matt dipp eyeliner mee, omdat ik graag een matte eyeliner wilde hebben. Deze vloeibare eyeliner belooft mat en langhoudend te zijn en ondanks dat ik nooit goed overweg heb gekund met vloeibare eyeliners kocht ik deze om te proberen.

USA Makeup Haul! With Maybelline, NYX, Tarte, Real Techniques and more!

Tijdens mijn laatste vakantie in de Verenigde Staten heb ik natuurlijk make-up geshopt. Vaak snel even tussendoor, want we hadden grote afstanden af te leggen en bleven niet in dezelfde plaats, maar ook in weinig tijd kan ik heel goed make-up shoppen. Ik ben bij Walmart, CVS Pharmacy, Target en Ulta geweest. De eerste drie zijn grote mega stores/drogisterijen en Ulta is een beauty walhalla met alleen maar beautyproducten en make-up van zowel budgetvriendelijke als meer luxe merken. Review: New H&M blusher

Na een week werken en bijkomen van mijn jetlag, wat niet echt is gelukt waardoor ik zo'n beetje het hele weekend heb geslapen, schrijf ik nu eindelijk weer een artikel. Voor mijn vakantie had ik notabene een paar artikelen als concept klaarstaan met de foto's erin, maar ik ben er nooit aan toegekomen om ze af te schrijven. Tot nu dan. NOTD: gel polish manicure from XpresSpa @ Schiphol airport

Gisteren ben ik thuisgekomen van een road trip door New Mexico, Arizona en Californië in de Verenigde Staten. Voordat ik op reis ging heb ik in de XpresSpa van Schiphol een gel manicure genomen. Dit was de eerste keer dat ik zoiets liet doen en ik heb er erg veel plezier van. De kleur Party At The Palace van de Cinderella collectie van Gelish zit tot de dag van vandaag nog steeds mooi op mijn nagels. Kijk mee naar mijn (telefoon)foto's!

It was my first real manicure ever! I chose a color named Party At The Palace from the new Gelish Cinderella collection. This is a shimmery light turqoise blue color. I wear this polish on my nails now for nearly two weeks. During my vacation I took several pictures of my nails to show you this beautiful polish!

De liptrend in de jaren 90 was bruine of mauvekleurige lipstick of gloss met een lijntje erom heen. Nu is de trend online terug gekomen! Het begon met de instagram pics van Kylie Jenner in 2014 en ook nu in 2015 zie je het nog steeds veel bij beautybloggers en online makeup artists. Ook ik heb de trend helemaal ontdekt en mijn favoriete combinatie, nog zeer budgetvriendelijk ook, deel ik met je in dit artikel!

De limited edition collectie Like An Unforgettable Kiss die Essence voor Valentijn heeft uitgebracht, bevat een paar leuke producten. Ik kocht een blush, drie lipsticks en een blush brush.

Look: Absolute Rose

Ik had zin om met het Absolute Rose eyeshadow palette van Catrice aan de slag te gaan en dus maakte ik deze look. Als je verder leest, laat ik je close-ups van deze look zien en vertel ik je welke producten ik gebruikt heb!

NOTD: Million Stars - Gosh

Vandaag draag ik net als de vorige dagen #631 Million Stars van Gosh op mijn nagels. Dit is een donkere, blauwgrijze lak met een heleboel shimmer erin. Ik heb hem al vaker gedragen, want het is natuurlijk een perfecte kleur voor de winter. Kijk mee naar meer foto's!

Toen ik voor mijn vorige artikel mijn MAC make-up bij elkaar zocht, kwam ik nog allemaal andere make-up tegen die ik al een tijd niet meer gebruikt had. Zo viel mijn oog op het trio smoky eyes paletje van Bourjois met lilakleuren en ik kreeg gelijk zin om deze weer eens te gebruiken. Kijk mee naar mijn lila look!

Het grote MAC artikel: MAC addict tag + mijn stash

Gisteren kwam ik bij A Beauty To Rock de MAC addict tag tegen, die al op diverse beautyblogs voorbij is gekomen, en ik besloot hem eindelijk eens over te nemen. Ik ben inmiddels ruim zes jaar fan van MAC. MAC behoort samen met Catrice en Essence tot mijn favoriete make-up merken. Deze nagellak van L'Oreál Paris heb ik alweer even, maar afgelopen week heb ik hem weer eens gedragen. Ik krijg weer zin in wat fellere kleuren nu het voorjaar in zicht komt. Kijk mee!

Ik ben zelf fan van Essence! Het merk is betaalbaar en heeft leuke, speelse producten. Het assortiment wordt regelmatig veranderd en er zijn limited edition collecties met pakkende thema's waardoor ik altijd even bij het schap kijk bij een bezoekje aan Kruidvat. Ja, als je mij naar mijn favoriete make-up merken vraagt, hoort Essence daarbij. Op dit moment ligt de Hidden Stories collectie in de winkel waarvan ik beide highlighters meenam. De lipliner is bezig aan een heuse comeback! Ik had al een paar lipliners, maar er komen er steeds meer bij in mijn stash. In dit artikel laat ik je de lipliners zien die ik van Essence en Catrice heb met een heleboel swatches!

Ik wilde al even graag mijn nieuwe oogschaduwpalet van ZOEVA gebruiken en dat kwam er eindelijk van bij deze look. Ook had ik net mijn haar geverfd, dus kijk snel mee!

Oogschaduwbasis, ik kan niet zonder! Vroeger leek het me onnodig en ik gebruik het dan ook pas vijf jaar, maar echt, hoe kon ik ooit zonder? Zelfs als ik alleen mascara draag, draag ik nog een oogschaduwbasis erbij om vlekken, uitlopen en vettige oogleden te voorkomen. Inmiddels heb ik er heel wat uitgeprobeerd. Een tijdlang was de Shadow Insurance van Too Faced favoriet bij mij, maar na het verdwijnen van Sephora uit Nederland, was deze niet makkelijk meer te krijgen en dus ben ik op zoek gegaan naar alternatieven. New in: Oogschaduws KIKO

Vlak voor kerst was ik in de Duitse stad Keulen en daar kwam ik een shop van KIKO cosmetics tegen. In 2013 had ik al eens bij KIKO geshopt en dat was me goed bevallen, dus ik was blij om na ruim een jaar weer eens rond te neuzen bij dit merk. Ik had al snel een mandje gevuld met make-upjes, maar uiteindelijk heb ik een heleboel weer teruggelegd en rekende ik slechts drie oogschaduws af.
